Sabrina Carpenter lançou, nesta quinta-feira (5), o seu novo single, "Manchild", marcando seu primeiro trabalho inédito de 2025.
A faixa, coescrita com Amy Allen e Jack Antonoff -- que também assina a produção --, combina synth-pop dos anos 80 com elementos leves de country e disco, criando uma sonoridade dançante.
Com letras afiadas e sarcásticas, a cantora aborda a imaturidade emocional de um ex-parceiro, evidenciada em versos como "Did you just say you're finished? Didn't know we started..." ("Você acabou de dizer que terminou? Não sabia que tínhamos começado...").
"Manchild" sucede o sucesso do álbum "Short n' Sweet", lançado em 2024, que rendeu a Sabrina Carpenter dois prêmios Grammy: "Melhor Álbum Vocal Pop" e "Melhor Performance Pop Solo" por "Espresso".
Sobre o single, Sabrina disse: "Não só foi muito divertido de escrever, mas essa música se tornou para mim algo que posso relembrar e que marcará a montagem mental dos anos muito confusos e divertidos da vida adulta".
